Volunteers

  • Event Staff : 2 to 4 people (depending on the events)
    • Time and Place : varies.
    • Examples of Events:
    • Bon Odori by Buddhist Temple of San Diego & Japan Friendship Garden San Diego at Balboa Park in 2015, 2016 & 2017 – Genki HomeCare had a booth to introduce, inform, and advertise Genki HomeCare to the visitors.
    • Vista Buddhist Temple Obon Festival in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 & 2017 – Genki HomeCare had a booth to introduce, inform, and advertise Genki HomeCare to the visitors.
    • Japanese Cultural Bazaar at Buddhist Temple of San Diego in 2015, 2016, & 2017 – Genki HomeCare had a booth to introduce, inform, and advertise Genki HomeCare to the visitors.
    • Vista Buddhist Temple Hanamatsuri Bazaar in 2016 & 2017 – Genki HomeCare had a booth to introduce, inform, and advertise Genki HomeCare to the visitors.
    • Explanatory meeting for potential caregivers at various places on multiple days in 2015 & 2017 – Genki HomeCare explained about the job/tasks, benefits, and requirements.
    • San Diego Japan Summer Festival at NTC Venues in July 2016 – Genki HomeCare had a booth to introduce, inform, and advertise Genki HomeCare to the visitors.
    • The Asian Food & Craft Fair at Buddhist Temple of San Diego in 2013, 2014,  & 2015 – Genki HomeCare had a booth to introduce, inform, and advertise Genki HomeCare to the visitors.
    • Explanatory meeting for potential clients in North County on 2/28/2015 & 6/27/2015 – Genki HomeCare explained about the service, fees, features, and home care.
    • Community Expo on 5/16/2015 – Genki HomeCare had a booth to introduce, inform, and advertise Genki HomeCare to the visitors.
    • Bon Odori at Buddhist Temple of San Diego on 8/2/2014 – Genki HomeCare had a booth to introduce, inform, and advertise Genki HomeCare to the visitors.
  • Kiku Gardens lunch staff : 4 to 5 people
    • Garden Villas (used to be called Kiku Gardens) is an independent living, HUD senior apartment consisting of 100 units.
    • Genki HomeCare cooks and serves lunch for the residents of Garden Villas every eight weeks with the next lunch on April 20, 2018, Friday. Volunteering starts at 9:00 am and goes until 1:00 pm at the Garden Villas facility in Chula Vista.
    • Approximately 90 servings are made by volunteer staff of about 10 people. Lunch is provided to the volunteers.
